Man In The Mirror comes to the Theatre Royal Brighton on Wednesday 18 November, a one-night-only tribute to Michael Jackson. It's built around CJ, billed as one of the world's greatest Michael Jackson tribute artists, who's supported by a cast of performers and musicians. Together they set out to capture Jackson's style and charisma, with the production staging some of his best-known songs: 'Thriller', 'Billie Jean', 'Beat It', 'Smooth Criminal' and 'Man in the Mirror'.
It's not just about the music, though. The show leans on choreography, visual effects, a light show and authentic costumes to carry the room. The choreography is a big part of that — Jackson's dancing was as much a part of the draw as the singing, so that's something the production puts front and centre. The visual effects and lighting are there to build the atmosphere around the songs, and the costumes are meant to look the part.
