Olivier-nominated international dance-theatre piece by Teaċ Daṁsa / Michael Keegan-Dolan, featuring 12 dancers and live music by Cormac Begley and s t a r g a z e.
We have a major dance event coming to Brighton Dome next month that’s worth noting. It’s called MÁM, a highly regarded dance-theatre piece created by Teaċ Daṁsa and the acclaimed choreographer Michael Keegan-Dolan. This production has already made a significant impact internationally, having been nominated for an Olivier Award and playing to sold-out houses at Sadler’s Wells in London. The show is now part of its debut UK tour, brought here by Dance Consortium, and it’s often described as a provocative journey that draws heavily on the landscape and culture of West Kerry, Ireland, invoking myth and magic.

What makes MÁM stand out is the unique combination of movement and sound. The performance features twelve dancers and, crucially, all the music is performed live on stage. This score is a collaboration between the traditional Irish concertina virtuoso Cormac Begley and the European contemporary classical collective s t a r g a z e. The work itself is a continuous experience, running for approximately 80 to 90 minutes without an interval, which some sources have called 'ritualised ecstasy.'
If you’re planning to catch it, the show is running for two nights at the Brighton Dome Concert Hall. The dates are Tuesday, February 10, and Wednesday, February 11, 2026. Both performances start at 7:30 pm (19:30), with doors opening at 6:45 pm, and the evening wrapping up around 8:50 pm. For those interested in diving deeper, the Tuesday, February 10, performance will include a post-show talk hosted by Liam Francis, and this specific date will also feature audio description by Caroline Burns.
Regarding tickets, prices start from £15.00, with tiers available up to £30. Concession rates and tickets for under 26s are set at £20, and education groups can get in for £15 (excluding the highest price bracket). Just a heads-up on the content: the production is recommended for ages 10 and up, and it does use both fog and flashing lights during the performance.
