Comedian Lucy Beaumont brings her new tour show to Brighton for an evening of chaotic and surreal storytelling, reflecting on her experiences in television quiz shows.
If you have spent any time watching British panel shows recently, you have probably seen Lucy Beaumont navigating the specific chaos that seems to follow her. She has been quite open about her struggles in that world—losing a contestant £79,000 on The Wheel and scoring only two points on her specialist subject, Les Dawson, during Celebrity Mastermind are the kind of moments that stick with you. It seems these experiences have led her to a new conclusion: she is better off sticking to stand-up. This is the premise behind her new tour, Bad at Quiz Shows, Good With Weirdos, which is coming to the Brighton Dome on Thursday, 3 December 2026.

This show is a departure from the high-pressure environment of quiz sets. Instead, Beaumont is focusing on the stories that don't fit into a standard television format. She covers everything from her time trying to keep a low profile after Celebrity Traitors to the bizarre experience of creating 'cow udder couture' on The Great British Sewing Bee. It is essentially a collection of anecdotes about navigating life when you feel like you are operating on a completely different wavelength to everyone else. If you have enjoyed her work on Taskmaster or her sitcom, this feels like a natural extension of that same surreal, storytelling style.
The performance at the Brighton Dome, located on Church Street, is scheduled for 20:00, with doors opening at 19:15. It is worth noting that the show is suitable for ages 14 and up. Tickets are priced at £27.50, though there is a £3.50 booking fee per order for online or phone bookings, which does not apply to Brighton Dome & Brighton Festival members. This date is part of a much larger national tour that spans from September 2026 through to July 2027, so it is a significant stop on her schedule. It is a straightforward evening of comedy, presented by Land of Green Ginger Productions and supported by Mayo Wynne Baxter, for anyone interested in seeing how she translates those television mishaps into a full-length live show.
