Lots of hands are a duo from Newcastle, consisting of Billy Woodhouse and Elliot Dryden. Their sound sits at the intersection of indie pop, experimental indie rock, and lo-fi electronics. They often lean into a bittersweet, slowcore-influenced aesthetic, creating a specific atmosphere that defines their recorded output. If you have listened to their records like mistake, fantasy, or into a pretty room, you will know they have a distinct approach to composition. They have also worked with collaborators like Mage Tears, which adds another layer to their experimental indie-rock sound.
Sharing the bill is Sundots, the project led by multi-instrumentalist Drew Collins, who hails from Connecticut. Their music is a blend of freak-folk, ambient, and slowcore, often described by the artist as sincere and playful. Their discography includes albums such as Honeyspot and room, alongside tracks like window and small. Collins has also collaborated with OnlyAfter6PM, bringing a different texture to the evening that complements the indie-rock focus of the show. The combination of these two acts offers a look at the current state of experimental and DIY indie music, moving between the lo-fi electronic textures of the Newcastle duo and the ambient, folk-leaning compositions of the Connecticut project.
The event runs from 19:00 to 22:00. Tickets are available online, with a reference price of £19.16. It is a straightforward setup for anyone interested in the current DIY and experimental indie landscape, bringing together two distinct projects for a single night in Brighton.
