High-energy jungle music with heavyweight breaks and rolling basslines on the dancefloor.
Lens brings her Moving Mad tour to Patterns on Saturday 28 November, with the night kicking off at 23:00. It's a late one, so if you're planning on it, keep in mind it's a Saturday night in Brighton and the set starts well after midnight.
Lens plays high-energy jungle, and the tour is built around that. She describes her sound as a relentless mix of heavyweight breaks, rolling basslines and proper rave pressure, with fast, furious and unpredictable selections designed to keep the energy locked from start to finish. If you're not familiar with the term, jungle is a fast-paced, breakbeat-driven style of dance music that grew out of the UK rave scene, and Lens leans into the heavier, more driving end of it. The 'heavyweight breaks' she mentions are the chopped-up drum patterns that drive the whole thing, and the 'rolling basslines' are the deep, moving low-end that carries the track forward.
It's a dancefloor set, so the focus is on the energy rather than a seated performance. The 'rave pressure' she talks about is that feeling of a room filling up and the music pushing you to keep moving, and the 'unpredictable selections' mean she'll be switching things up as she goes, rather than sticking to one mood all night. It's the kind of set that works best when you're actually in the room, with the bass hitting you in the chest and the breaks keeping you on your toes.

Patterns is on the seafront at 10 Marine Parade, BN2 1TL, and the night starts at 23:00 on Saturday 28 November. If you're coming from elsewhere in the city, it's a short trip down to the water, and since it's a late start, you've got plenty of time to get sorted before the first break drops.
