Stand-up show by Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee Larry Dean, described as a chaotic and sentimental hour about refusing to grow up.
Larry Dean brings his new show Hellbent to the Brighton Dome on Sunday 13 December, with the performance starting at 7.30pm and doors opening at 6.45pm. He's a three-time Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee and a regular on Live at the Apollo, and he's also appeared on SNL, QI and The Royal Variety Performance.
Hellbent is a riotous hour about refusing to grow up, and the reviews suggest it's a bit of a departure from his usual stuff. Critics have called it "a solid hour of comedy from a performer who knows exactly how to entertain a room" and "Larry Dean at his most chaotic and sentimental show yet", so it sounds like it balances the loud, high-energy side of his act with something a bit softer underneath.
He bills himself as "The Gallus Glaswegian Goon", and that gives you a fair idea of the persona he brings to the stage: loud, brash, and leaning hard into his Glasgow roots. If you've seen him before, you'll know he's not one for playing it quiet, and Hellbent seems to keep that energy going while letting the more sentimental side of the set breathe.
