Komedia Comedy Club

Komedia Comedy Club returns to the Komedia basement on Saturday 12 September, the first of a long run that carries on through to 28 August 2027. It's a regular fixture of the Brighton calendar, running on alternating Fridays and Saturdays, so it's one of those nights that'll be around for the foreseeable.

The format is the same every time: three acts and an MC, all on one bill. The seating is unreserved cabaret style, so there's no assigned seat to worry about — you just turn up and find a spot. It's strictly over-18s, which is worth keeping in mind if you're thinking of bringing anyone younger.

For those who haven't spent much time there, Komedia is a proper Brighton institution. It's tucked away in the North Laine, just a few minutes' walk from Brighton Station, and it's been there for just under 30 years. It bills itself as the city's premier live entertainment venue, and it's not just stand-up — it also hosts music, cabaret, club nights, kids' shows and drag nights. The Comedy Club night itself is billed as the best pro comedy in the South.

Doors open at 19:00 and the show starts at 20:00. Tickets are £6 for concessions and £20 standard, though prices can vary, so it's worth checking before you book. With the run going on for nearly a year, it's an easy one to slot into a weekend whenever you fancy it.
