Komedia Comedy Club

Komedia Comedy Club is back in the basement of Komedia on Friday 25 September, with doors opening at 19:00 and the show starting at 20:00. It's the club's regular night, and the format is the same one it's run for years: three top acts and an MC to hold the evening together. The names on the bill change from week to week, so if you've been before, you're likely to see a completely different line-up this time around.

That's the thing about the club night — it's a revolving door of stand-up. Over the years, it's hosted a long list of names: Maisie Adam, Sara Barron, Jen Brister, Jordan Brookes, Nina Conti, Tony Law, Zoe Lyons, Shazia Mirza, Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Spencer Jones. If you're following the club rather than a specific comic, you'll get a different mix of styles and voices every time you go back.

Komedia itself is a Brighton institution, tucked into the North Laine and just a few minutes' walk from the station. It opened in 1994, and the room has a record 18 Chortle Awards for Best Comedy Venue in the South & East. The Independent has called it 'the place in Brighton to catch stand-up comedy', and We Love Brighton describes it as 'one of the best things to do in the city'.

Tickets are £20 standard, £13 concession and £6 for students. There are Meal Deal tickets that save up to £5 per person, and a group discount code that takes £5 off each ticket for groups of six or more. This isn't a one-off, either — the club runs on Friday and Saturday nights through to 21 August 2027, with a New Year's Eve special on Thursday 31 December 2026, doors at 18:00 and the show starting at 19:00.
