Komedia Comedy Club

Komedia Comedy Club is back in the basement of Komedia on Friday 7 August, the first of its Friday and Saturday night runs throughout 2026. It's the club's regular night, which runs from 7 August right through to 28 November, so if you miss this one, there are plenty more to choose from across the autumn.

The format is the one you'll expect: three top acts and an MC, with the line-up changing from night to night. Over the course of the season, the club has worked with names like Sikisa, Jessie Nixon, Tom Ward, Paddy Young, Gabriel Ebulue, Lily Phillips and Ben Norris, among others. It's a showcase that pulls from across the circuit, and because it's a regular club night rather than a one-off show, you're as likely to see a big name as you are a rising act.

For those who haven't been, Komedia is a North Laine institution and one of the UK's top independent comedy venues, having won the Chortle Award for Best Comedy Venue in the South & East a record 18 times. It's hosted the likes of Maisie Adam, Sara Barron, Jen Brister, Jordan Brookes, Nina Conti, Tony Law, Laura Lexx, Zoe Lyons, Shazia Mirza, Kiri Pritchard-McLean and Tom Ward. The club sets out to celebrate diverse line-ups, nurture new talent and champion cutting-edge comedy, and it forms one half of the Brighton Dome Comedy Festival, which runs alongside Comedy Club 4 Kids, the 11+ showcase Live at Brighton Dome BLEEPED and adult comedy workshops run with the physical comedy ensemble Spymonkey.

Practicalities: the room works on unreserved cabaret seating, so you'll want to get there early if you're keen on a particular spot. The nights are strictly ages 18+. Doors open at 19:00, and the show starts at 20:00. Tickets are £20 standard, with a £6 concession available. If you're looking for something in December, there are also Christmas Party nights with doors opening earlier at 18:30.
