Jimmy Carr brings his 2027/28 tour 'Killing Jokes!' to the Brighton Dome with a 90-minute jokefest called 'Laughs Funny'.
Jimmy Carr is back at the Brighton Dome on Wednesday 8 December 2027, as part of his 2027/28 tour Killing Jokes!. The show is called Laughs Funny, and it's a 90-minute jokefest delivered in his usual style, running from light to very dark and played straight through without an interval. If you've seen him before, you know the format: one-liner after one-liner, no fluff, and no break in the middle.
Carr has built his reputation as the king of the one-liner, and he's one of Britain's best-selling comedians. He's a constant presence on television, where he hosts and regularly appears on some of the country's favourite comedy game shows. On stage, that clean-cut appearance and the beaming smile contrast with deadpan, darker material — and that's a good part of the act. There's also the now-iconic 'hoo hoo hoo!' laugh that usually follows a punchline that's gone a bit too far.
He describes jokes as being like magnets: they attract people, but they can also repel them, and he's happy for his brand of comedy to do exactly that. It's a good way of framing what he does — he's not trying to be everyone's cup of tea, and he's perfectly fine with the fact that some of his material will land with a thud for some and a roar for others. Because of the darker edge, the show is recommended for audiences aged 16 and over.
