The core of Life Learnings is deeply autobiographical, tackling big themes with humor and honesty. Foulds, who is queer and neurodiverse, uses the show to explore what it’s like navigating the world with an ADHD brain—which she describes vividly as a 'messy bedroom'. The narrative spans her youth in the 90s, her coming out journey, and the enduring power of rave culture. It also delves into heavier topics like parental loss and the process of grief, ultimately framing itself as an 'ode to joy and the complexities of friendship, queer diversity and raving.' It’s essentially a love letter to the people we meet and the sticky dance floors we’ve shared over the years. Critics have praised her formidable stage presence, with Deborah Frances White calling the poetry "Riveting, relevant, relatable."
For those planning to attend, the show is held in the intimate setting of the Komedia Studio at 44-47 Gardner Street, and seating is unreserved. It’s specifically aimed at 'old ravers and fun makers' and anyone who values their best friends. Just note that there is an age restriction of AGES 16+. Tickets are priced reasonably, with Standard entry at £15.00 and Concession tickets available for £13.00. It sounds like a genuine, heartfelt piece of theatre that uses comedy and poetry to reflect on life's messy bits.
