Jeff Innocent: Leaning in

Jeff Innocent is back at The Forge Comedy Club on Sunday 28 February, with a new hour of stand-up called Leaning In. It's presented by LDN Comedy as part of the Forge Comedy Club Tour, and it's his first show since his debut tour and comedy special Smart Casual.

The title gives you a fair idea of where the set is coming from. Innocent is 70 now, and he's spent decades resisting the idea of getting older. Leaning In is about the moment he finally stopped fighting it and decided to embrace his twilight years with a calm, accepting mindset — a shift that sits at the heart of the show.

He's a popular, experienced comedian who performs all over the world, and he does more than just stand-up: he regularly appears on TV and radio as an actor and cultural commentator, and has written for various publications. The critics have been on his side, too. The Evening Standard called him 'that funny', The Times said he 'delivers a masterclass in stand up comedy every time he performs', Kate Copstick of The Scotsman described him as 'clever, honest, funny, hugely likeable', and Chortle noted that he 'commands the room'.

The show runs for two hours and is for ages 16 and over. It's at The Forge Comedy Club, Ironworks Studios, 30 Cheapside, Brighton BN1 4GD, from 6pm to 8pm, with doors opening at 5pm. Tickets are £29.16, which includes the booking fee.
