A tasting session exploring Japanese powdered teas and modern matcha lattes, guiding guests through the differences in texture, aroma and intensity.
Japanese Tea Tasting: Matcha Lattes & More is coming to Starling Studio in Brighton, with two sessions to choose from: Friday 11 September from 12:00 to 13:30, and Saturday 12 September from 09:30 to 11:00. It's a tasting session that looks at how Japanese powdered teas are turned into modern lattes, and it's set up to guide you through the differences in texture, aroma and intensity that shape the final cup.
The tasting takes you from the grassy lift of matcha through to the mellow, toasted warmth of hojicha, and the idea is that you'll leave knowing how to choose the right tea for your own palate. If you've only ever had a matcha latte from a coffee shop and wondered why some taste so different from others, this is exactly where you'll find the answer. It's less about just drinking and more about understanding what's actually happening in the cup.
