Jane Horrocks, David Shrigley & Norman Cook In Conversation

Jane Horrocks, David Shrigley and Norman Cook are coming together at the Brighton Dome Corn Exchange on Saturday 12 September for a conversation played out over a game of table tennis. It's presented by the Brighton Table Tennis Club, and the whole thing is built around the table: the three of them chatting while they play, with the rallies continuing as the conversation goes on. Once the talk finishes, the audience is invited to take a turn themselves.

It's an odd mix on paper. You've got David Shrigley, the visual artist known for his deadpan drawings and dry humour; Jane Horrocks, the actor; and Norman Cook, better known as Fatboy Slim. They come from art, film and music, and the table tennis is what brings them into the same room. The night doesn't end when the conversation does, either. The tables stay open to the public, there's a live set from DJ Best Enjoyed Now, and a bar to keep you going. All the proceeds from the evening go to the Brighton Table Tennis Club.

If you want to get some playing in before the main event, the Corn Exchange is open for free table tennis from 2pm to 5pm that same afternoon, so you can warm up your backhand before the guests arrive. The conversation starts at 19:00, with doors opening at 6pm. Tickets are £17, with concessions at £12, and Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival members save £2 on those.
