Jamie Hutchinson: Can My Mate Come? He's Sound

Jamie Hutchinson is back at The Forge Comedy Club on Thursday 20 August, with a new hour titled Can My Mate Come? He's Sound. It's his first Brighton date since his Waterslide tour, which he's described as record-breaking, and this one is a fresh start rather than a victory lap.

He's billing the new show as a masterclass in self-caricature, and the description gives a fair idea of what to expect: unfiltered mayhem, questionable logic and emotional chaos delivered with rapid-fire gag-darts. It's a full hour of new material, so if you've seen his previous work, this is a different beast entirely. The British Comedy Guide has dubbed him 'Wetherspoons' own Hunter S. Thompson', which sums up the vibe pretty well — high-energy, a bit chaotic, and not particularly polished around the edges. He's also a podcast cult hero, and he describes himself as older but not wiser.

The show is presented by Funny That Comedy as part of the Forge Comedy Club Tour, so it's one of several dates they're putting on across the country. Hutchinson is the sole act on the bill, so the whole hour is his.
