Weekly Saturday 80s music party at The Green Door Store, featuring retro hits, power pop, and power ballads. Strictly 18+.
If you're looking for a reliable Saturday night out that guarantees a specific kind of nostalgia, the weekly institution It Is Still 1985 is always a solid choice. This legendary 80s party, presented by 'More Human Than Human', has been running for over 15 years and is essentially Brighton's definitive night dedicated to the decade. The vibe they aim for is pretty specific: think the sounds coming out of Patrick Bateman's Sony Walkman mixed with the feeling of walking straight into a John Hughes movie. If you're planning ahead, the next date on the calendar is Saturday, March 21, 2026.

The music itself is described as an uninhibited journey through the legitimately great and sometimes terribly fun side of 80s tracks. You can expect a mash-up of retro hits, power pop, old-school anthems, and power ballads. The playlist is extensive, covering everything from Fleetwood Mac, Madonna, and Wham, to The Clash, Kate Bush, David Bowie, Cyndi Lauper, Phil Collins, Prince, The Cure, Talking Heads, New Order, Huey Lewis & The News, and Whitney Houston—a mix designed to keep the energy high until the early hours. The party takes place, as always, at The Green Door Store, which you can find tucked away in Units 2, 3 & 4 Trafalgar Arches, near the Lower Goods Yard by the Brighton Railway Station (BN1 4FQ).
Doors open late, running from 23:00 (11:00 pm) right through until 04:00 am. If you decide to head down, remember this is strictly an 18+ event, so make sure you have your ID ready. Regarding entry, it is a paid event, and the standard cost for the weekly Saturday night is £5. While some past events or specific promotions have seen prices slightly lower, £5 is the reliable figure to budget for this date. If you appreciate the context of a long-running local night that knows exactly what it’s doing, It Is Still 1985 remains a consistent fixture on the Brighton nightlife scene every single Saturday.
