Charity standing gig of Brighton-based neo-soul and jazz artists with a late-night vinyl DJ set, by all-female events company Into Her Groove.
Soul-Selecta's comes to Komedia on Thursday 19 November, a night of live neo-soul and jazz put on by Into Her Groove Events. The bill is all-female, and the music is played by Brighton-based artists, so it's a local line-up through and through. Tia Ice and The Virgin Vinyl's take the stage for the live part of the evening, and when the bands have finished, a vinyl DJ takes over for a late-night set that runs from disco through to house.
Into Her Groove is a new Brighton events company that showcases emerging female artists from across the city, and this night gathers a bill of neo-soul and jazz acts from around here. It's run as a charity gig, with all profits going to support women and non-conforming individuals in the music industry — a cause the company says is close to its heart.
