Indie rock night at DUST where attendees can wear a wig for a free shot and enjoy live indie covers.
Big Wig Energy takes over Dust on Saturday 28 November, an indie rock night built around a wig theme. The premise is simple: anyone who turns up in a wig gets a free shot, and there are wig giveaways on the door, with the crowd encouraged to wear their worst one and unleash an alter ego. It's the kind of night where the dress code is half the point, so if you've got a truly terrible wig tucked away, this is the time to bring it out.
On the music, it's a wide-ranging set of indie rock and pop covers. The list of artists they draw on is long and spans a few different eras: Sam Fender, Arctic Monkeys, Catfish & the Bottlemen, Fontaines D.C., The Strokes, Two Door Cinema Club, Wet Leg, The 1975, Paramore, Tame Impala, The Neighbourhood, MGMT, The Cure, Bloc Party, The Smiths, Florence & the Machine, The Killers, Blur, Oasis, Gorillaz, The Verve, Franz Ferdinand, Muse, Coldplay, The White Stripes, Vampire Weekend, Glass Animals and Lana Del Rey. It's a broad sweep of indie, from the Britpop staples of Oasis and Blur to the more recent stuff from Wet Leg and Fontaines D.C., with plenty of the 2000s dancefloor fillers in between.
