Stand-up comedy show by Iain Lee, star of The 11 O'Clock Show, commemorating his 30 years in show business.
Iain Lee is at Komedia on Saturday 20 February, his first-ever tour, marking 30 years in show business. He's 53 now, and the show, Imposter Syndrome, takes its name from the thing he says has run through his entire career: the feeling that he didn't deserve his success and spent his time downplaying it.
It's not a standard stand-up set. Lee watches clips from The 11 O'Clock Show and other obscure material, providing behind-the-scenes commentary on what it was really like working with Ricky Gervais and Sacha Baron Cohen. He talks about how he tricked Kate Garraway on Good Morning Britain, Bob Mortimer's prank calls to his radio show, and why he's obsessed with Ghostbusters 2. He also opens up about being fired from almost every radio station in the UK, getting trapped down a well, and whether Geoff from Barton could drive.
Lee is a familiar face from The 11 O'Clock Show and won I'm a Celebrity... Get Me Out of Here!, so there's a fair bit of ground to cover. The Independent called him 'raw, bold and unfiltered', and The Guardian said he's been 'delighting (and outraging) audiences for nearly 30 years'.
