Harker + Burnt Tapes + Making Friends

Harker are back at The Prince Albert on Friday 9 October, and it's an album release show. The record is All That Remains, their third, and it's the first new material from them in a while. They recorded it at the Levellers' Metway Studio, with Toby May engineering.

If you're not familiar with them, Harker are a Brighton punk band. They describe their sound as channeling the spirit of Dischord Records and '90s indie fuzz, and they name Superchunk, Against Me! and The Replacements as influences. That puts them in the melodic, guitar-driven end of things rather than the abrasive side of punk. The lineup on the new record features guitarist Louis May alongside Boniface, Phoebe Saunders on bass and Matt Claxton on drums.

They're not playing alone that night. Joining them are Burnt Tapes, a melodic gruff-punk four-piece from London, and Making Friends, a Brighton skate-punk band. With Harker's own sound sitting somewhere between '90s indie and punk, it's a line-up that stays in that same rough territory across the whole bill.

The gig runs from 20:00 to 23:00 at The Prince Albert, 48 Trafalgar Street, BN1 4ED. Tickets are £9.27, and it's an 18+ event.
