Club night 20th anniversary party with alternative, rock, metal, pop-punk and emo music.
Guerilla Rocks is celebrating its 20th anniversary on Saturday 15 August, with a club night at Above at Charles Street Tap in Kemptown. The organisers say it's been running for twenty years, which would make it the city's longest-running club night — a fair claim if you've been around the Brighton scene long enough to remember when it first kicked off.
The music spans the whole night and pulls from a few different corners: alternative, rock, metal, pop-punk and emo. It's a broad mix, so it doesn't stick to one sound; you'll hear the heavier side of things alongside the more melodic, pop-inflected stuff, and the set moves between them rather than staying in one lane. It's an over-18s night, and the bar has selected pints and spirit-and-mixers starting from £3. Entry is £5, and it runs from 23:00 to 03:00 at Above at Charles Street Tap, 8 Marine Parade, Kemptown, BN2 1TA.
