An immersive outdoor escape game blending scavenger-hunt thrills with puzzle-solving and narrative twists across Brighton.
On 25 March 2026, Brighton will host an outdoor exploration game titled 'Gone With the Tide'. This activity blends elements of a scavenger hunt with the puzzle-solving mechanics of an escape room. Participants take on the role of 'Ghosthunters', using their smartphones as paranormal detectors to track ten spirits hidden throughout the city. The objective is to solve the challenges presented by these spirits and piece together the clues to identify a final culprit. While the game is self-guided, some participants choose to wear costumes to add to the atmosphere, though this is entirely optional.

The starting point for the experience is Brighton Railway Station, located on Queens Road. The route spans approximately 1.5 miles and leads players through ten specific locations across the city. Because the game is strictly an outdoor activity, it is designed to be played in public areas, and there is no requirement or permission to enter any private buildings or properties. The experience is estimated to take between 60 and 90 minutes, depending on your pace. Since the event is available on a flexible schedule, you can begin the game at a time that suits you on the day.
Regarding the requirements, the game is recommended for those aged 14 and older, and any participants under this age must be accompanied by an adult. A smartphone with a reliable internet connection is necessary, as the device serves as the primary tool for the game. The interface is available in English, French, German, and Spanish, allowing for a choice of language. Tickets are available for purchase online, and each ticket provides access to the game on one device. If you are participating as a group and wish to have multiple devices running the game simultaneously, you can purchase additional tickets accordingly.
