Gok Wan brings his iconic Isolation Nation live for a second installment following a record sell-out.
Gok Wan brings Isolation Nation to Quarters on Saturday 20 March, starting at 16:00. It's the second time he's brought the show live, following a record sell-out for the first run, so if you missed it then, this is your second chance.
For those who aren't familiar, Isolation Nation is Gok Wan's take on the club night format, with him at the centre of it. The first installment went down as a record sell-out, and this second one follows that same blueprint. It's a day-to-night affair rather than a late-night one, which changes the whole feel of it — you're in and out while it's still light, rather than staying up until the early hours.
Quarters is at 187-193 Kings Road, and it's a bit of a specific spot. It sits beneath the historic arches that once held Zap and The Arch, so it's built on decades of Brighton club culture. They describe it as a home for the city's music lovers, misfits and 'midnight families', and they've set it up as a place for quality sound and bold programming without the clout. It's their way of positioning the venue as the city's new cultural HQ, and this is one of the nights that fits that bill.
