A tribute show recreating the Rumours line-up of Fleetwood Mac, performing their most beloved tunes.
Go Your Own Way plays Theatre Royal on Tuesday 12 January, a tribute show built around the music of Fleetwood Mac. It's a specific focus, too: they're recreating the Rumours line-up of Stevie Nicks, Mick Fleetwood, John and Christine McVie and Lindsey Buckingham, the era that remains the band's most commercially successful.
That's the same five people who recorded Rumours in 1977, and the show works through a songbook of their most well-known tunes. You'll hear Dreams, Don't Stop, Everywhere, Rhiannon, Gold Dust Woman, Little Lies and Big Love, so the set leans on the songs that most people recognise from that period. The ensemble describes what they do as recreating the live energy and passion of those years, rather than just playing through the records.
For a bit of context, Fleetwood Mac formed in 1967 as a fusion of British and American musicians, and that particular line-up is the one that cemented their status as rock and roll legends. It's the version of the band that most people think of when they hear the name, and the one this show focuses on.
