It's that kind of music that leans into storytelling, with the Celtic influence running through the songwriting rather than just sitting on top of it. The venue is The Hope & Ruin, at 11-12 Queens Road. It's a 150-capacity room situated above a busy pub, which hosts live shows from local and international artists alongside a regular poetry night and the odd late-night club. There's a bar serving draft lagers, beers, ciders and the venue's own Hope & Ruin Mosaic Pale Ale, plus a ground-floor bar to hang out in before and after the music. The venue stays open until midnight Sunday to Wednesday and until 2am Thursday to Saturday, so on a Wednesday like this, it'll be open until midnight.
