Stand-up comedy night featuring exciting female comedians from the Funny Women Awards, supporting the charity RISE.
Funny Women: Brighton Nights is back at Komedia on Saturday 26 September, and it's not just a one-off. The night runs again on Saturday 24 October and Saturday 28 November, so if you can't make the first one, there are two more to pick from over the autumn.
The bill brings together some of the newest and most exciting female stand-up in the UK, drawn from the Funny Women Awards and beyond. The Funny Women Awards are a well-known springboard for female comedians, so the line-up pulls from a pool of acts that have already been through that process. It's a showcase of women at different stages of their careers, and the focus is on the newer names rather than the big household names.
One thing they're clear about is that it's not an anti-male gathering — everyone is welcome, and the night is open to all. The show also supports RISE, a local charity that provides essential services for women and children who have experienced domestic violence, so your ticket goes toward that work.
