Stand-up comedy night at Ironworks Studios featuring Barry Castagnola, Jen Nolan, Paddy Lennox and MC Stephen Grant.
Forge Comedy Club returns to Ironworks Studios on Saturday 22 August, one of several comedy nights the venue is running through the late summer. This one features Barry Castagnola, Jen Nolan, and Paddy Lennox, with Stephen Grant on MC duties. It's a standard stand-up bill: three acts and a compere to hold the night together, so you'll get a fair spread of styles across the evening.
Forge is the venue's resident comedy night, and it's built a decent track record over the years. The roster of comedians who've played through here is a long one, with names like Ramesh Ranganathan, Russell Kane, John Bishop, Alan Carr, Rob Beckett, Rob Mussry, Sarah Pascoe and Zoe Lyons all having taken the stage. It's that kind of night where you'll see a mix of established names and newer faces, and the line-up changes from one show to the next.
Ironworks Studios does more than just comedy, too. It's home to some of Brighton's best cabaret and drag, including Cabaret Boheme, as well as burlesque nights. The venue also hosts 'Pride at the Ironworks', an ongoing series of cabaret, comedy and live music events celebrating LGBTQ+ culture and diversity, so there's usually plenty on if you're looking for a night out in the city.

This particular show runs from 8:00 to 10:30 pm, so it's a full evening rather than a quick set. If you're planning your August, it's one of several dates the venue has on the go: there's another on the 20th from 8:00 to 10:00 pm, then the 28th from 8:00 to 10:30 pm, followed by September 4th and 5th, both 8:00 to 10:30 pm. The 22nd is the one with Castagnola, Nolan, Lennox and Grant.
