Stand-up show 'White Lies' by Fiona Allen, of 'Smack the Pony', at Komedia Studio.
Fiona Allen returns to the stage at Komedia Studio on Friday 5 March 2027 with her new show, White Lies. If you know her from the Emmy award-winning Smack the Pony, you'll recognise her as part of one of the best comedy troupes to come out of the UK, and this is her back on her own two feet with fresh material.
The premise of White Lies is something most of us can get behind: she needs the perfect lie to get out of her pet hate, social gatherings. It's a relatable enough starting point, but it doesn't stay there. The plan backfires, and she ends up having to face her worst fear instead: her neighbour's party. It's that classic comedy setup where the effort to avoid a small social disaster only manages to build a much bigger one.
Beyond the stage, Allen has put in a lot of time on screen, and you've likely seen her without even realising it. She's appeared in EastEnders, Death in Paradise, Skins, Casualty, Mock the Week, Fat Slags, Waterloo Road and Shameless — a run that covers everything from long-running soaps and medical dramas to panel shows and gritty comedies. This is a full-length stand-up show, though, so the focus is on her live on stage rather than a supporting role.
