Live rock performance by Fat White Family at Concorde 2, presented by FORM.
Fat White Family play Concorde 2 on Sunday 4 October, presented by FORM. They're a London band that started in a Peckham squat back in 2011, and they've spent the years since pulling together rock & roll, post-punk, country and psychedelia. If you've followed them from the start, you'll know them for the confrontational lyrics of Champagne Holocaust (2013) and Songs for Our Mothers (2016). Their third album, Serfs Up! (2019), reached number 17 in the UK charts.
Their reputation is built on the live stage, and they're known for long, eclectic setlists. They lean heavily on The Fall, with covers like 'I Am Mark E. Smith', 'Polygamy Is Only for the Chief', 'Whitest Boy on the Beach' and 'Hits Hits Hits' appearing alongside curveballs like The Rembrandts' 'I'll Be There for You'. It's that mix of the abrasive and the unexpected that marks them out.
