A comedy night featuring sketch, improv, character, physical and musical comedy, hosted by Leslie Bloom.
Extra Topping is back at The Yellow Book on Saturday 17 October, and it's more than just a one-off. The showcase runs on a monthly Saturday schedule from 17 October 2026 right through to 21 August 2027, so if you miss this one, there's plenty more to come over the next ten months.
It's a comedy night that bills itself as 'not stand-up', and that's a fair way to put it. Rather than a line-up of comics taking turns with a mic, it pulls from the wider end of the spectrum: sketch, improv, character, physical and musical comedy, or anything just a little bit different. The Reviews Hub called it 'the best alternative comedy', which gives you a good sense of the territory it covers. If you're used to the standard stand-up format, this is the other side of the room.
Hosting the night is Leslie Bloom, who describes herself as a fitness instructor, mother, investigator and occasional tarot card reader. That's a lot of roles for one person, and it fits the spirit of the nightβthe kind of thing that doesn't quite fit into one box. The showcase brings together a variety of acts on stage, so you'll get a mix of styles in a single evening rather than one long set from a single performer.
