Stand-up show by Esther Manito, the 'Queen of the Rants', about motherhood, perimenopause, marriage and the absurdities of modern life.
Esther Manito brings her show Raging Queen to Komedia on Friday 24 September 2027, starting at 19:30. It's a stand-up set from a comic who's built a bit of a name for herself around the very thing most of us spend our lives trying to keep under control: losing it in public.
That's where the nickname comes in. The British Comedy Guide calls her the 'Queen of the Rants', a title she's earned with a stage persona that leans right into the moment of losing her mind in front of an audience. Raging Queen is described as a blisteringly funny, relatable show about motherhood, perimenopause, marriage, ageing and the absurdities of modern life. The whole thing takes the tiny indignities and injustices women are expected to quietly endure and turns them into something screamed about from the rooftops.
It's the kind of material that hits home if you've ever felt like you're the only one barely holding it together while everyone else seems to have the manual. The focus is on the domestic and the everyday—the stuff that usually gets shrugged off or kept behind closed doors—and gives it the full, loud treatment.

As for the night, it's at the Komedia studio, inside Komedia at 44-47 Gardner Street, BN1 1UN. The venue is right in the heart of Brighton's North Laine, just a few minutes' walk from Brighton Station, and has been the city's premier live entertainment spot for just under 30 years. Brighton itself has a long reputation as the comedy capital of the South East, so it's a fitting place for a show that makes a career out of letting it all out. The set starts at 19:30.
