Dutty Moonshine Big Band

Dutty Moonshine Big Band are playing the Brighton Dome on Friday 20 November, with special guest TANKUS opening the night. It's part of their Second Distillation tour, presented by Rum Runner Records and This Is Now Agency.

If you've never come across them, the name is a fair clue to what they do. They blend electronic production and live instrumentation with big-band energy, pulling from jazz, hip hop and bass music. It's a big sound that sits somewhere between a dancefloor and a stage, and they've spent the last eleven years carving out their own space in the UK scene, working almost entirely outside the traditional music industry. What started as an experiment back in 2015 has grown into sold-out headline tours, major festival appearances and two albums that charted in multiple UK charts.

This tour, Second Distillation, takes its name from the moonshine process: the first distillation is raw and full of potential, the second cleaner and stronger. They're describing it as their most ambitious chapter yet, with upgraded live production, brand-new music and bigger headline venues. It's a good time to catch them if you're into the intersection of live brass and electronic beats, especially with a fresh set of songs to hear.
