A four-piece instrumental rock and post-rock collective performing live at The Green Door Store.
Dog Unit play The Green Door Store on Wednesday 24 February, a night presented by FORM. They're a London-based instrumental rock and post-rock collective that's been together since 2017, and the set is entirely vocal-free. If you're not familiar with them, they work with guitar-driven soundscapes rather than songs in the traditional sense, so it's a night for listening rather than singing along.
Reviewers describe their sound as a mix of entrancing drone, tactile texture, slow-mo polyrhythm and skewiff riff. That's a fair way of putting it: the drone and texture sit at the atmospheric end, while the polyrhythms and riffs bring the rock side of things. It's a vocal-free approach, so the guitars do all the heavy lifting.
They've been releasing music steadily over the last few years. There's the EP Turn Right And Right Again and the album At Home, followed more recently by the 2024 EP At Home, Still. Their latest album, Runners, came out in October 2026, so this show arrives while the new material is still fresh.

The venue is The Green Door Store at 3 Trafalgar Street, BN1 4FQ, a grassroots room tucked beneath Brighton's railway arches. It's a former 19th-century horse hospital and railway storeroom, and it still keeps that raw, industrial character: smoke-blackened brickwork, Victorian dereliction and uneven cobbled flooring. It's recognised by the Music Venue Trust and was nominated in the Music Week Awards' Grassroots Category, and it spends its time championing emerging and alternative acts across rock, punk and indie. The space is fully wheelchair accessible. Tickets are £14.65, which includes the booking fee, and the night starts at 7:30pm.
