EP release show with support from Highdrive and Darcy. 18+ event.
Distress Call are playing Dust on Friday 28 August, their EP release show. It's an 18+ night, and they're sharing the bill with two other South Coast acts, Highdrive and Darcy.
Distress Call are a five-piece based here in Brighton. They've coined their own term for what they do: 'grungegaze', a blend of grunge and shoegaze that leans on atmospheric, heavy guitar tones and a mix of alternative subgenres. This being an EP release show, the set will be built around the new material they've just put out.
Highdrive and Darcy both fit that same general orbit. Highdrive are another Brighton five-piece, mixing shoegaze with 90s alt-rock. Darcy are a four-piece who describe their sound as grunge-gaze, blending classic grunge with hazy shoegaze and smooth vocals. Both are from the South Coast, so it's a local line-up from start to finish.
