Stand-up comedy show by Deirdre O'Kane at Brighton Dome, exploring domestic mishaps and historical injustice.
Deirdre OβKane brings her stand-up show All The Rage to the Brighton Dome on Friday 5 March. It's a night of comedy that works by pulling together two ends of the spectrum: the small, domestic mishaps we all recognise and the larger, more epic stuff that sits way beyond our front doors.
OβKane builds the set around that contrast, putting everyday heartbreaks alongside moments of historical injustice. She takes aim at the double tragedy of heartbreak and getting Christmas all wrong, and she describes her approach as turning irritation, absurdity and outrage into fast, fearless, honest and mischievous stand-up. It's the kind of comedy that finds the funny in the things that usually just make you want to throw your hands up in the air.
If you're not familiar with her, she's a stand-up comedian who makes a career of looking at the things that get under our skin and finding the joke in them. All The Rage is the title that sums it up: taking the frustration and the absurdity of the everyday and turning it into a show.
