If you have been following the history of The Wedding Present, you might be interested in the upcoming event at Komedia on Tuesday, 15 September 2026. David Gedge is bringing his book launch tour for the third volume of his autobiography, What Have I Said Now?, to the Komedia Basement. The book, which is published by Scopitones and written alongside Terry de Castro with illustrations by Lee Thacker, covers the band's trajectory from their early days through the success of albums like Bizarro and Seamonsters. It compiles stories previously featured in the Tales From The Wedding Present comic series, offering a chronological look at their experiences, including tours and industry encounters.

The evening is structured as a mix of performance and discussion. It kicks off at 19:30 with a 30-minute acoustic solo set by Darren Hayman. Following that, there will be a 30-minute interview where David, Terry, and Lee are interviewed by Darren, which leads into an audience Q&A session. The night concludes with a 50-minute, stripped-back semi-acoustic set featuring David, Terry on bass, and Wedding Present guitarist Rachael Wood. After the music, there will be an opportunity to get copies of the book signed by David, Terry, and Lee. The event is scheduled to finish at 22:30.
Regarding the logistics, the venue is located at 44-47 Gardner Street, Brighton and Hove, BN1 1UN. The seating is unreserved cabaret style, and the event is open to those aged 14 and over, though anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Standard tickets are priced at £25.85, though it is worth noting that prices can fluctuate. As a small incentive, there is a 20% discount on drinks for the first hour after doors open, excluding bottles of wine.
