Slide guitarist and alt-blues songwriter Dave Arcari performs, presenting his latest album 'Still Friends' at Komedia Brighton.
We have a great alt-blues gig lined up for early March that should be on your radar. On Saturday, March 7, 2026, the Scottish slide guitarist and songwriter Dave Arcari is playing at the Komedia Studio here in Brighton. Arcari is known for taking the classic pre-war Delta blues sound and giving it a serious twist, mixing in elements of trash country, punk, and rockabilly. It results in a sound that is definitely unique and far from standard blues fare. He’s coming to town to present his latest album, Still Friends, which was released in November 2025. The album itself generated some buzz, having successfully funded its production through a Kickstarter campaign that reached its goal in just seven days.

The show takes place at 44-47 Gardner Street, BN1 1UN, specifically in the Komedia Studio. This venue is often highlighted as Brighton's leading independent entertainment spot, and the Studio space is particularly valued for its intimate setting and excellent acoustics, making it a great fit for a guitar-focused performance. Doors are scheduled to open at 7:30 PM GMT, and the event is expected to run for approximately three and a half hours. If you're wondering about his standing in the music world, Arcari holds a pretty unique distinction: he is the first and only musician outside of the United States to be honored with a signature model guitar by National Reso-Phonic Guitars, an iconic manufacturer deeply tied to the history of the blues genre. Beyond that, his music has been featured on BBC television programs and even the popular American series The Deadliest Catch.
For those interested in attending, the event is organized by Buzz Records. Tickets are currently priced at £19.67 and can be secured through Komedia or Eventbrite. Seating in the Studio will be unreserved, so if you prefer a specific spot, arriving closer to the doors opening time might be wise. Regarding entry, the minimum age requirement is 14+, and anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. It looks set to be a solid Saturday night showcasing high-quality, unconventional blues music right here in the city.
