Alt-indie band Dateline return to the UK for a live performance at The Prince Albert in Brighton.
Dateline are playing The Prince Albert on Thursday 8 October, their first Brighton date since they toured the UK and Europe last year. They're an alt-indie band from New Zealand, founded and led by Katie Everingham, and they've been active since 2017. They've put out two albums, both well-received by the critics, and have picked up praise from Rolling Stone AUS/NZ, Under The Radar NZ, and Loud Women.

It's a long way from New Zealand to a pub stage in Brighton, but this is part of their return to the UK this autumn. They spent a good chunk of last year on the road across the UK and Europe, so they're not exactly strangers to these shores. If you've followed them from the start, you'll know the sound they've built around Everingham's songwriting; if you're coming in fresh, it's alt-indie that sits comfortably in the guitar-led tradition.
They describe their own work as a mix of "irresistible hooks, effortless energy and charismatic lyricism", which gives you a fair idea of what to expect on the night. The hooks are the melodic bits that stick with you after the set, the energy is the live feel, and the lyrics are where Everingham's writing comes through. Between the two albums they've released, there's plenty to draw from for a full set.
The gig starts at 20:00, and tickets are between £12.79 and £13.75.
