Live music by Curbside Lambsear, blending pop, folk and improvisation, presented by Love Thy Neighbour. Strictly 18+.
Curbside Lambsear play The Prince Albert on Thursday 4 February, presented by Love Thy Neighbour. It's the collaboration of Annabelle Mödlinger and Magdalena McLean, a project that started as a way for the two of them to experiment with writing music together. Those early sessions were as much about learning new instruments as they were about the songs themselves, and they spent a good deal of that time recording and writing on DAWs.
Their sound sits somewhere between rough textures and soft intentions, weaving pop, folk and improvisation with a pull from drone, dub and post-punk. It's a broad mix, and the songs come together as a collage of disparate sources: phone notes, little poems written on public transport, field recordings, sample loops, rehearsal voice memos and string melodies. Hearing that in a live setting gives you a sense of how those fragments—the scribbled notes and the recorded memos—eventually find their way into a full song.

On the night, it's just the two of them on stage, Mödlinger and McLean. The show is strictly 18+, and the room has a capacity of 100, so it's a small one. It runs from 8:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and tickets are £16.
