Brighton's biggest midweek club night run by students for students, featuring house, hip-hop, drum & bass and chart remixes with free food and drink challenges.
CU Next Tuesday is back at Quarters on Tuesday 1 September, one of a run of midweek club nights that kicks off on 25 August and continues through 8 September and 29 September. It's Brighton's biggest midweek club night, and the only Tuesday one that runs year round, so if you're looking for something to do when the rest of the city is usually quiet, this is it.
The music covers a lot of ground โ house, hip-hop, drum & bass and chart remixes โ and the night is run by students for students, and has been trading every Tuesday for more than 15 years. There's a long-running local joke that Wednesday mornings in the city are officially cancelled, which tells you something about the kind of night it is.
Beyond the DJ booth, there's a fair bit going on. Free food, pizza and doughnuts are served every week, and there are free drinks for anyone who takes part in DJ Chris Spencer's air drop challenges. The night is known for its themes, too: '50 Shades of Greggs' came with free Greggs food; 'White Lies Party' was built around a white Primark tee with a fib written on it; there's been an ABBA x Mamma Mia night, and 'Bringing Shreksy Back' brought the Shrek soundtrack, face masks and a club swamp. If your birthday falls on the night, you get a free package with free entry, guestlist, queue jump, free pizza, a round of shots, cake and personalised cupcakes.
