A creative workshop for children aged 7-11 to design and craft their own magical animal marionette puppets at the Brighton Dome.
If you are planning ahead for the Easter break, the Brighton Dome is hosting a session on April 1st as part of their Creative Holiday Club. This specific workshop focuses on making Magical Animal Marionette Puppets. It is a full-day activity designed for children aged between 7 and 11, where they spend the day learning how to construct their own mythical creatures. The process involves designing the puppet and figuring out the mechanics to make them walk, jump, flap, or fly. It is a hands-on environment where the children are supervised by staff throughout the day.

The workshop schedule is set from 09:15 to 16:00. At 15:30, parents and guardians are invited to join for a short, informal presentation. This gives the children a chance to demonstrate the movements they have developed for their puppets before the final pickup at 16:00. Because this is a craft-based activity, it is recommended that the children wear comfortable, casual clothing that they do not mind getting a bit messy. Please keep in mind that this session is strictly for the 7 to 11 age range, and children aged 6 or younger are not eligible to attend.
In terms of the logistics, the standard price for the workshop is £55.00. If you are looking at booking multiple days, there are package options available: £100.00 for two days or £144.00 for three days. Note that there is a £3.50 booking fee for online or phone reservations, though this is waived for Brighton Dome and Brighton Festival members. While the organisers provide snacks during the morning and afternoon, you will need to provide a packed lunch for your child. It is important to ensure that this lunch does not contain any nuts or sesame seeds. Finally, before the workshop date, you must complete and return the required permission, health, and emergency contact forms to the venue. This ensures that all necessary information is on file before the children arrive at the Church Street location.
