Funk and soul club night headlined by broadcaster and DJ Craig Charles at Concorde 2.
Craig Charles brings his Funk & Soul Club to Concorde 2 on Friday 5 March, with the night starting at 19:00. It's a club night built around his two favourite genres, funk and soul, and he's the one behind the decks for the whole thing.
Most of us know Charles from the screen and the airwaves rather than the DJ booth. He's a long-standing actor, host and broadcaster, and you'll probably recognise him from Robot Wars and Red Dwarf. But for over a decade he's been a regular on BBC 6 Music, where he hosted a primetime Saturday night show and built a following around his love for soulful grooves and funky beats.
He's been playing this kind of music for more than 30 years, and it's not just a radio thing — he's taken his sets to stages like Glastonbury as well as the airwaves. The night is billed as a world of rhythm and soul led by the man himself, and the genres are listed as funk and soul.
