Free one-day pop-up of Cover Story Brighton, an independent magazine shop, with hundreds of independent magazines to browse and buy at Helm Gallery in the North Laine.
Cover Story Brighton is taking over Helm Gallery on Sunday 25 October, bringing hundreds of independent magazines to the North Laine for one afternoon. It's a pop-up shop rather than a permanent one, and it's part of a series of one-day shops the business is running across Brighton while it looks for a permanent home.
Cover Story is an independent magazine shop that stocks fashion, culture, music, art and niche print from around the world, and it's a proud stockist of Rolling Stone UK. For this afternoon, they're bringing that collection to the city: a curated selection covering fashion, photography, art, music, film, culture and niche interests. You'll find cult favourites and established independent titles alongside hard-to-find publications and collectible editions, all there to browse and buy on the day. If you're the kind of person who likes to flip through a magazine before you commit, this is exactly that—hundreds of titles on the tables and available to take home.
Helm Gallery, in the North Laine, opened in 2023 as the result of a collective vision, and the organisers are framing the afternoon around the idea that 'print is the new luxury'. It's a fitting spot for it, given the gallery's own recent start.
