Club friendly football match between Brighton & Hove Albion and Strasbourg at the American Express Stadium.
Brighton & Hove Albion take on Strasbourg at the American Express Stadium on Saturday 1 August, a club friendly that comes as part of their 2026/27 pre-season. It's the second match in a short run, following on from their game against Annecy, so it's one of those summer fixtures where the squad gets a good run-out before the real work begins.
If you're not familiar with the squad, it's a wide mix of ages. The first-team average is 25.5, and you can see that spread on the pitch: James Milner is still pulling the strings at 40, with Danny Welbeck at 35, while the younger end of the scale brings in 20-year-old Harry Howell and 19-year-old Nils Ramming. It's a friendly, so it's as much about seeing how the new arrivals fit in as it is about the established names getting their match fitness back.
Beyond the friendly, the club has a big season ahead. They're competing in the Premier League and the UEFA Europa Conference League, so these pre-season games are the build-up to a long calendar. The match is at the American Express Stadium in Falmer, which opened in 2011 and holds 31,876 on a natural grass pitch. The Terrace sits inside the ground, and the club goes by the code BHA.
