The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and the Brighton Festival Chorus return to the Brighton Dome on Sunday 13 December for their annual Christmas concert. It's a regular fixture in the city's festive calendar, and this year they're joined by the Brighton Festival Youth Choir, with mezzo-soprano Juliette Pochin on vocals and James Morgan conducting. The whole thing takes place in the Concert Hall, with doors opening at 3.15pm for a 4pm start.
The programme pairs rousing fanfares with Christmas classics, and there's a singalong element too: the audience joins in on favourite carols alongside a 150-voice chorus. It's not all strictly on the music, though. The evening has its own set of traditions: the performers read out the audience's best and worst Christmas jokes, and there's even a chance to try your hand at conducting. The organisers describe it as full of sparkle and Christmas cheer, a festive favourite that brings back the same combination of orchestra and chorus year after year.
