An alternative comedy show with Christmas-themed sketches, special guests and parlour games, hosted by award-winning comedian Christian Jegard.
Christian Jegard brings his Christmas Bedsit Party to Komedia on Thursday 10 December, an all-new alternative comedy night that takes its title from the way it's staged. The whole thing is built around a single conceit: the audience is inside Jegard's bedsit, and the evening unfolds from there. It's a Christmas-themed night, so the sketches follow suit, and the rest of the bill fills in the gaps with special guests, parlour games, music, and mistletoe. There's also a running thread of landlord avoidance to keep things on edge.
Jegard hosts the night himself. He's an award-winning comedian you'll have heard on BBC3 and Radio 4 Extra, and this is billed as an unpredictable, all-new show rather than a polished stand-up set. The reviews have been kind: Chortle called it 'such invention... witty, imaginative and different', and Under the Radar described it as 'incredibly funny'.
The show is part of the stand-up programme at Komedia, which sits in the heart of the North Laine, just a few minutes' walk from Brighton Station. The venue has been running live entertainment for nearly 30 years in what's often called the comedy capital of the South East. This particular night is in the Komedia Studio, at 44-47 Gardner Street, BN1 1UN.
