A live performance by the Scottish post-punk and new wave duo China Crisis, celebrating their 40th anniversary.
China Crisis play Concorde 2 on Friday 11 September, starting at 7.30pm. The Scottish duo formed in the 1980s and put out their first album in 1982, so they've been celebrating their 40th anniversary this year. Frontmen Gary Daly and Eddie Lundon met as schoolmates at one of Europe's largest Catholic boys' schools, which had around 2,500 pupils.
Their best-known hit is 'Black Man Ray', and that sits alongside songs like 'King in a Catholic Style', 'Wishful Thinking', 'Christian', 'African and White' and 'Working With Fire and Steel'. Reviewers have noted Daly's stand-up-comic patter and the banter between songs, and the band's roots in the 1980s post-punk and new wave scene.

The gig is at Concorde 2's Half Hall, and it's a 14+ event, so under-16s need to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or over, who'll have to show ID at the door.
