Chicane plays Quarters on Saturday 3 October, from 16:00 to 22:00. It's a long afternoon and evening session, and the bill is just him.
Chicane is the stage name of Nicholas Bracegirdle, a British producer born in Buckinghamshire in 1971. He made trance history with the 1996 single 'Offshore', and his debut album, Far from the Maddening Crowds (1997), gave us 'Saltwater', which featured the vocals of Clannad's Máire Brennan. He later reworked Bryan Adams' voice on the 2000 track 'Don't Give Up', a success that earned him praise from both the dance and pop press and made him a regular fixture on TV and radio.
Since then, his sound has moved from the relaxed summer atmosphere of Ibiza and trance towards a more atmospheric, ambient style that he describes as boundless of any genre. He's shown that versatility by reworking Sigur Rós on 2009's 'Poppiholla' and collaborating with Owl City's Adam Young on 2010's 'Middledistancerunner'.
