Halloween takeover at Patterns with UK Garage, bass, NUKG downstairs and Afro House, house and Afrobeats upstairs.
Carnevil is taking over Patterns on Saturday 31 October for Rtrn II Ukgrave, a Halloween special that spreads across two floors and two very different sounds. It's a full-night takeover, so you've got plenty of room to move between the basement and the terrace depending on what you're in the mood for.
The basement is where the night gets its name, taking things back to the grave with heavy UK Garage, bass and NUKG. If that's your speed, you can stay down there for the whole run. Upstairs, the energy shifts entirely: the terrace is dedicated to Afro House, Afrobeats and house, so there's a clear divide between the two rooms. The night runs from 11pm through to the early hours, with the upstairs terrace opening up at 1am, which gives you a good window to settle into the basement before the second floor comes online.
It's a Halloween takeover, so the venue will be dressed for it, with Halloween production and dΓ©cor throughout. Fancy dress is mandatory, so you'll need to come in costume to get through the door. The decks are held by DJs from across Brighton, and the whole thing is strictly over-18s.
