Brutus Gold brings his Love Train to CHALK on Friday 18 December, a night that sits right in the middle of the pre-Christmas rush. The bill is simple: Brutus Gold and Brutus Gold and the Love Train.
Love Train is a live disco experience built around the music, attitude and outrageous spirit of dance music's greatest era, playing soul, funk and disco. It's a night for the dancefloor, with the set pulling from the 70s disco sound and the soul and funk that sat alongside it. If you've got a soft spot for the era, that's exactly where this one lands.
CHALK is an independent, multi-purpose venue inside Brighton's coach station, opposite the Brighton Pier. The room changes capacity as needed and has a mezzanine bar, and it programmes club nights alongside live music. It's a regular spot for the city's club scene, with weekly fixtures like Fat Poppadaddys, Secret Discotheque and the legendary Let's Kill Disco, plus monthly nights Bad Decisions and Notorious. CHALK Live has staged acts such as Tom Jones and Snow Patrol alongside Little Sims, YUNGBLUD and Arlo Parks, as well as Brighton favourites The Big Push.
